I delved deep into the world of fantasy lately. I’ve been reading lots of books (ACOTAR, Fourth WIng, etc..), and I’m even doing a whole workout program with a sword. So, of course, I had to do a fantasy boudoir session with that sword.
Trying to envision yourself doing a boudoir session? Or wondering what sets are available? Here are some photos of our downtown Asheville boudoir studio to help you visualize it!
There’s actually no wrong way to do photography because it is art. So I leaned into experimenting with blurry grainy images and wound up having an amazing time.
It’s been a little while since I made a new studio set. I did love the blue wall that used to be here, but it felt a bit too plain. My new Mid Century Hollywood design solves several problems for me.
Recently, we’ve been dreaming of doing more editorial-style boudoir sessions. We started off with an idea to use chains in a session.
I’ve always enjoyed hiking, and it’s a huge part of why I moved to Asheville, NC. Most of my boudoir sessions have been indoors, but I want to be taking advantage more often of all the gorgeous mountain areas surrounding us!
I get asked a lot if Virago does couples boudoir, and yes we do! In couples sessions, we get to focus on celebrating your relationship and all the unique and beautiful ways you love each other. And you deserve to have those moments photographed.
Exciting news for photographers! I’m hosting a styled shoot on February 18, 2023 at my studio in downtown Asheville, NC.
A couple weeks ago, I got some new BDSM style props that I wanted to use in a session. I put out a call in my Badass Babes Facebook group for someone to do a session with the props…and let me share the photos.
When this gorgeous human, Nikki, asked us to do a Corpse Bride themed session, we jumped at the opportunity! We love doing out of the box creative sessions!
I recently got to do this session just for fun, to play around, and to create some portfolio images, and I love them! While Corina is absolutely gorgeous, and should be a model, she is not one, so I guided her through the session like I do all my clients.
Spring is here, and the flowers in my garden started blooming! I knew I wanted to do a spring boudoir session with them in a quirky style. I’ve worked with model Ana-Alicia before, and knew she would be perfect for this!
Have you been wondering what a full session gallery looks like? When we do your in person viewing session on the same day as your session, you’ll see a minimum of 50 images. So here’s Patrice rocking a full gallery of images.
We got about eight inches of snow in Asheville last week, and I was so excited to be able to do some snow boudoir photography! Here are some tips I learned from this shoot.

I’ve been dreaming of making a collage wall forever. So I finally did it! I cheated and bought a pack of images from Tezza and combined them with photos I cut out of vintage National Geographics.
Boudoir photography for men is often made into a joke. “Dude-oir” has gone viral with men in silly mocking poses. BUT…
I’m a little late posting this as I’ve now been in this studio for two months, and these are from right when I first moved in. But I had to post them because I love them so much!
After getting the keys, I tested the light in my new downtown Asheville studio with a few people to find out my favorite spots and where I wanted to put the furniture and paint colors. Naomi drove across the state to be my muse, and I was so excited because I photographed her once and have been wanting to work with her again!
I wanted to test the light in the new downtown Asheville studio space before I painted and decorated. So I reached out to see if anyone wanted to model in the simple open white space to let me play around and test the light. I’m so happy Sarah was in!
Now that the weather is warm, I am constantly outside gardening, walking the dog, and hiking. So even though I love my studio, I’m called to create boudoir images outdoors. If you want to do an outdoor session, now is the time to book and grab a spot.
You’ve probably never done something like this before, and don’t know what to expect. It’s normal to be a bit nervous with something new, but I promise it’s worth it! So I’m going to tell you all about what happens the day of your boudoir session!
I want my clients to get the most out of their boudoir session, and that’s why it was so important for me to do one myself. It’s one thing to say every woman should do a session, but it’s another to know at your core, how true that is.
“I’m a firm believer that one single experience can alter your mind, your path...your life. I’m a firm believer that ALL women should do boudoir. That’s such a hefty statement, but I stand beside it with my whole heart. About three years ago, I was a newish mom. I was prepared for sleepless nights and lots of uphill battles, but I think the one thing that I wasn’t prepared for was catching a glimpse of the stranger in my reflection.”
Shopping for lingerie can be incredibly daunting. So I’ve curated this list of some of my and my client’s absolute favorite Amazon lingerie buys to include highly rated lingerie that you’ll love…that WON’T break the bank!

I found a vintage tv at a thrift store and wanted to incorporate it into a boudoir session. Luckily, I found Holland who was excited to be a little outside the box and play around with my ideas!
I recently got to do my very first couple boudoir session, and now I’m addicted. Twice the laughter. Twice the steaminess.
Catherine never missed a beat of bravery. She stepped right into every crazy pose with the confidence I hope we all can find in ourselves. I am so thankful to her for not only letting me share her images but also doing the short video testimonial below.
I had been dreaming up this session for weeks before I actually did it. I knew I wanted to create some simple black and white bodyscapes. Sometimes I love color so much that I forget to do black and white photos, so this was the perfect chance to fall in love with black and white again. And I did.
