When you do any kind of art, you have to keep it fresh. I accomplish that for myself by trying new ideas all the time. No matter how crazy it sounds. Actually, especially if it sounds crazy.

This time my idea was “grandpa boudoir.” It all started from seeing the little holsters that hold up trouser socks. I thought they were kindof hot. So I styled a whole shoot around them.

Now, this was a portfolio session that I did with a model. If you come in for a boudoir session, I will not style you in something this weird (unless you request it). But keeping fresh with sessions like this helps me be more creative and show off your personality in more classic sessions too.

This client came years ago to do a boudoir session for her then partner. She is now thankfully free and single and did a second session just for herself. At the end of the session, we went to the top of the nearby parking garage and yelled at the top of our lungs just to celebrate.
